These yellow flowers really don't look much like a Kansas sunflower at all, so I'm not sure how they got their name,
FALSE SUNFLOWER, but we like them in the garden. They were part of a mix of wildflowers and prairie grasses we ordered from Prairie Frontier. I don't remember seeing them last year, so they must be one of the flowers that don't come up until the second or third year. I like that they are supposed to bloom from late spring through fall.
